Evaluation - Cartoon

In this project we had to create a soundtrack to an extract from Tom and Jerry. We did this by using existing sound effect that were found online and by recording our own using a voice recorder. I personally feel that the scores and sound effects that I used were appropriate and fitting to the visual which enable the watching audience to be engrossed in the brilliant animation. I used and created lots of different effects and even tried to create some Foley style SFX by using two bricks for the hits and an attempt for teeth shattering were i dropped loads of pins and small stones on a metal tray, which didn't work very well. I believe that the imagery and the sound elements that were put together compliment each other really well as they enable the audience to relax and enjoy the visuals without having to concentrate on the audio, which adds to the humor really well. I feel happy with the overall result as I feel that I chose appropriate sound effects which compliment the visuals. If I were to do this again I would want to use a better recording device such as a condenser mic as the voice recorders microphone was really poor and picked up a lot of background noise and due to the 'Automatic Gain Control' (AGC) causes a lot of issues.
